Kitchener Barracks, Chatham
An exciting new development of light-filled 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes in the heart of Kent.
Situated in an infill site behind an existing community centre, TopHat contracted to deliver 20 2-bed homes. Working as main contractor, TopHat delivered the entire project over 6 months, around half the time of a traditional construction programme.
Whilst groundworks were taking place on site, modules were being manufactured in our Derbyshire factory. On completion of the foundations, the completed modules were installed.
With the modules being almost entirely pre-finished, 2 months after the installation of the modules, the new homes were handed over to the client.
The homes have been built to the highest environmental standards, ensuring that the new residents will be able to afford to heat them, assisting in alleviating fuel poverty. For example, the new homes include integral PVs, which provide power to the homes, helping in keeping running costs down.

I am pleased that these new affordable, modular homes have been completed. There is a huge demand for new houses in Medway and we remain committed to ensuring our residents have a great choice of both affordable and luxury homes. The White Road development showcases the triumphs of offsite manufacturing and it is pleasing that the homes have been built without producing significant carbon emissions. I wish residents all the best in their new homes.
